A god who is capable of sending intelligible signals to millions of people simultaneously, and of receiving messages from all of them simultaneously, cannot be, whatever else he might be, simple. Such Bandwidth!

About This Quote

In a world where we are all connected by technology, we would expect that a God capable of sending and receiving messages from millions of people simultaneously would be very advanced. However, the idea that a god with the ability to talk to millions of people at once would be simple goes against our beliefs as to what a god should be. The idea of a god watching over us is comforting and leads us to believe that we have someone looking out for us. A god who can communicate with everyone at once is too complex for our beliefs as to what a god should be.
